queen'in birçok şarkısını yazmış ve bazılarını söylemiştir. kendine has tarzıyla tanınır. kendi el yapımı gitarı red special ile duyguyu şarkılara sözlerin yapamayacağı kadar güzel bir şekilde verir. freddie mercury gibi muhteşem bir sesin yanına yakışabilecek yegane gitaristtir.
