Second Interconnector Pipeline (IC2) IBEC pipelines, IBEC[/b] - The Gas 2025 study identified Interconnector 2 (IC2) as the most practical solution to transport additional gas supplies to Ireland. IC2 now provides additional capacity to meet the substantial increase in gas demand forecasted for the coming decades.
Construction of IC2, a 195km sub-sea Interconnector pipeline linking Ireland with Southwest Scotland commenced in April 2002 and was successfully completed on time and to budget in November 2002.
